I’ve been watching and listening to my sister’s story for a year now and after having my second child 10 weeks ago I felt very motivated to lose the weight I’d put on. Within 2 weeks of delivery I was working out 6 days a week but still eating whatever I wanted. I was definitely losing weight but not at the rate that I wanted to. I decided to take Carrie’s advice and began limiting my calorie intake. I’ve kept my breakfast to about 200-250 calories by having a slim fast shake, a fiber one bar with a yogurt, or a smootie. For lunch I’ll have a turkey sandwich with pretzels, a lean cuisine meal, or a lean pocket. Then, I have a snack such as a yogurt or pretzels. By the time dinner comes around, I’ve only had between 500-600 calories. For me, I usually make dinner for my family and so I’ve continued eating whatever I make but just really trying to cut down my portion size. I was hungry often for the first couple of days but now I rarely feel hungry. It’s been a little hard to stay away from the sweets but thanks to my free day, it’s been doable. For example, I went to a baby shower last week and saw these brownies that looked to die for. So, I wrapped 2 up and brought them home, stuck them in my fridge and thoroughly enjoyed them on my free day. I’ve been doing this calorie thing for 2 weeks and I’ve lost 6 lbs and dropped a pant size so I think it’s pretty clear that it works and it really hasn’t been that difficult.

I've noticed if I go too long in between workouts the weight comes back on FAST! If I'm consistent then I get some encouraging results when I get back on the scale. So exercise if definitely key!
